Here's a logo from Down Under. Melbourne plays in the Australian Rules football league.I saw this logo at Brand New, one of my favorite sites. The designers there seem to think this is too busy and are generally critical.
I'm no expert, but I know what I like and I like this. I am especially fond of the interlocking M, F, and C in the red field at the top.
